What to bring to a party but don’t have too much time to prepare? Well, this is a very easy recipe. Not only is this very quick to prepare, but it is a delicious recipe with bursts of flavor and texture.
The combination of the baked brie with the sweet and tart flavor of the fig spread and craisins make this such a yummy appetizer, dinner and or dessert treat. Oooh, add some chopped pecans and you’ve got yourself one heck of a healthy meal. Packed with protein, dairy, vitamin A, C, D and a little bit of puff, your waist line can’t go wrong.
Here’s what you will need:
1 Brie Wheel
1/4 cup Dried pecans
Beat ONE egg with 2 tablespoons water
Preheat the oven at 400 degrees, use middle rack.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Thaw the Pepperidge Farm Pastry per the instructions on the box.
Add flour to a board and using a rolling pin, roll and the puff pastry so that it is 50% larger.
In a bowl, mix the Craisins and chopped pecans together.
Place them in the middle of the puff pastry (see illustration).
Add fig spread to the top of the Brie Wheel. Then place it on top of the craisins and pecan mixture.
Add more fig spread to the other side of the Brie Wheel and along the sides (see illustration).
Wrap the Brie with the filing with the puff pastry by taking one corner and folding over. Do the same with all the corners. (See illustration)
Place the wrapped brie onto the parchment paper. Brush with the egg wash.
Sprinkle with Himalayan Sea Salt.
Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes.
